Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the Streamio Android application ("Streamio", "the app", "we", "us") handles information. Streamio is published by MJ Android ("the Developer"). By installing or using Streamio you agree to this Policy.

In short: Streamio streams video files you choose on your device directly to the streaming service you configure. We do not create accounts, we do not receive your videos, and we do not sell your data. The app uses Google services (Firebase and AdMob) for crash reporting, basic analytics, and ads, which collect limited technical and advertising data as described below.

1. Your video content and stream credentials

Streamio sends the local video files you select from your device to the RTMP endpoint you configure (for example, your own YouTube live stream). This content travels directly from your device to the streaming service you choose. The Developer does not receive, upload, host, or store your videos.

The RTMP URL and stream key you enter are stored only on your device (in the app's local storage) so you don't have to re-enter them. They are never transmitted to the Developer.

2. Information collected automatically

Streamio itself does not ask you to provide personal information such as your name or email. However, the third-party SDKs the app includes collect limited information automatically:

Google Firebase Analytics

Collects app-usage and event data — for example which screens and features are used, app version, device model, operating-system version, language, coarse region, and app-instance identifiers. This helps us understand how Streamio is used and improve it.

Google Firebase Crashlytics

When the app crashes, it collects a crash report — including the type of crash, a stack trace, app version, and device state at the time — so we can diagnose and fix problems.

Google AdMob (advertising)

Free users may see banner ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier and collect ad-interaction and limited device data to serve and measure ads. Users who purchase Streamio Pro do not see ads.

Google Firebase Remote Config

The app fetches small configuration values (such as display text) from Google's servers. This does not collect personal information.

3. Purchases

"Streamio Pro" is a one-time in-app purchase processed by Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment; the Developer receives only your entitlement status (whether Pro is active) and never sees your card or payment details. Pricing, billing, and refunds are governed by Google Play.

4. Device permissions

Streamio requests only permissions it needs to function, including: Internet and network access (to stream), a foreground service and wake lock (to keep streaming while the screen is off), notifications (to show the streaming status), exact alarms and boot-completed (for the optional scheduled daily start), and access to the video files you explicitly pick via the Android file picker. Streamio does not browse your storage on its own — it only accesses files you choose.

5. Third-party services

Streamio relies on Google services. Their handling of data is governed by Google's policies:

6. Your advertising choices

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier, and limit ad personalisation, from your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads (wording varies by device). Purchasing Streamio Pro removes ads entirely.

7. Data retention

Data you store locally (stream settings, playlist, Pro status) remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app. Analytics and crash data collected by Google are retained according to Google's retention policies.

8. Children

Streamio is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

We rely on the security controls of the Android platform and Google's services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Because Streamio does not maintain user accounts, most data is under your control on your device: you can clear the app's data or uninstall it at any time. For questions or requests regarding data handled by the Developer, contact us at the address below. For data processed by Google, use the controls in your Google account and device settings.

11. International users

The Google services Streamio uses may process data on servers located in various countries. By using the app you acknowledge this processing consistent with Google's policies.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
